U.S. News Ranks DDC Physicians in Top 1%
November 8, 2012 Four physicians from the Digestive Disease Center at MUSC have been recognized as top doctors in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. Formal congratulations go out to Drs. Don Castell, Brenda Hoffman and Adrian Reuben for being ranked in the top 1% of all physicians in the nation for their respective specialties. Dr. Mark DeLegge was ranked in the top 10% in our region.
The same publication also ranked MUSC as one of the top 50 hospitals nationally in the specialty of gastroenterology.
These awards assist patients during their research process and help them find the doctors and center that can best address their specific needs.
The U.S. News and World Report recognizes the top physicians in the United States across dozens of medical specialities and by hospital affiliation. Physicians on the top doctors list are either nominated by peers or appointed by the Castle Connolly physician-led research team.
Doctors cannot self-appoint, pay to be on the list, and there is no correlation between hospital and individual rankings. Receiving this designation is a high honor for the individual, but also recognizes the quality of work contributed by all staff members at the Digestive Disease Center.
