Digestive Problems

Common Symptoms: Early Satiety

Early satiety is the inability to eat a full meal or feeling full after only a small amount of food. This is most likely due to gastroparesis, a condition when the stomach is slow to empty. Gastroparesis can contribute to GERD, and is usually diagnosed by a nuclear medicine scan. It is treated by medications that help stimulate gastric emptying (prokinetic), such as Reglan or Domperidone.

Gastroparesis is often seen in patients with diabetes.
