Tests and Treatments: Diagnostic Tests: Biopsies: Blood Tests
Blood tests are a common method of determining how your body is working. Your blood is an amazing liquid that sends oxygen and nutrients to every part of your body. Blood tests help determine whether patients have anemia, low protein levels, and/or deficiencies of certain vitamins and minerals. Blood tests can also be used to make specific diagnoses for example, anti-endomysial antibody in celiac disease.
For more information on blood tests, visit the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute website.
