Dr. Mark Payne Recognized for Ten Years of Service

January 16, 2009 – At the January 14th Digestive Disease Service Line Town Hall meeting, Dr. Mark Payne was presented with a service award, recognizing ten years of outstanding service as Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine. The presentation was made by the DDSL Director, Dr. Mark DeLegge, and DDSL Administrator, Vicki Marsi. The award was signed by Dr. John Feussner (Department of Medicine Chairman) and Dr. Pat Cawley (Executive Medical Director) as well as members of the Gastroenterology/Hepatology faculty, acknowledging and congratulating him for this accomplishment.

Dr. Payne came to MUSC from the University of Kansas in 1998 and has been instrumental in building and leading a first-class team of physicians and clinical services. He was an integral part of the move to Ashley River Tower in early 2008 and the integration of Gastroenterology/Hepatology into the Digestive Disease Center. Dr. Payne currently serves as the Director of Endoscopy for the Digestive Disease Center. We would like to thank Dr. Payne for his dedication and service.
