New Coordinator Joins Digestive
Disease Service Line

Julie Akers, RN, BA

January 7, 2009 – Julie Akers, RN, BA has joined the DDSL after working at MUSC's Surgical Oncology Unit for the past 10 years. While there, Julie became Oncology-certified and was also a good resource for discharge planning. Julie, graduated with a BA from UNC-Chapel Hill, then went on to nursing school at Trident Technical College here in the Charleston area. Working closely with Elaine Rawls, Julie is currently orienting to be the new ERCP Coordinator.
