Jennifer Wieckowski, DDICU Nurse of the Year

June 17, 2008 – Congratulations to Jennifer Wieckowski, RN, BSN, CCRN, who was selected as the DDICU Nurse of the Year. Jennifer has been instrumental in getting the unit established and continues to be an excellent nurse and resource for all staff. She also makes up the schedule for all DDICU/DDPCU staff.

Jennifer, who graduated from MUSC, has been a nurse for almost five years. She went into nursing school with the plan to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, but ended up in the Adult ICU. She has a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from State University of New York at Cortland (graduated Summa cum laude). She worked fulltime during Nursing school as an emergency veterinary technician where she learned most of her basic nursing skills, such as placing IV, calculating drug dosages, and giving meds.
