Mary Basel Co-Authors Parenteral Nutrition Article for Journal

March 29, 2007 – Mary Basel, RD, with the assistance of Chris Bannister, RD, Amanda Budak, RN and Dr. Mark DeLegge, authored an article that appeared in the April 2007 issue of Nutrition in Clinical Practice (http://ncp.aspenjournals.org).

Titled Parenteral Nutrition (PN) Use for Adult Hospitalized Patients: A Study of Usage in a Tertiary Medical Center, the article explains the importance of parenteral nutrition for patients who are unable to meet their nutrition needs through either oral or enteral nutrition. This article defines what the current state of appropriate and inappropriate PN use is at academic medical centers.
