Our Functions: Clinical
The clinical activities of the Digestive Disease Center are defined as the services provided by faculty members of the DDC in the context of digestive disease.
The DDC provides comprehensive clinical services for patients with known or suspected digestive disorders, incorporating the disciplines of Medical Gastroenterology; Hepatology; Nutrition; Bariatric Surgery; Esophageal; Upper Intestinal, Colorectal, Pancreatic Biliary and Hepatic Surgery; Liver, Pancreas and Small Bowel Transplantation; and Gastrointestinal Oncology (Medical, Surgical and Radiation Oncology) and pediatric services. The DDC has state of the art facilities and equipment, providing the most up to date, sophisticated and minimally invasive therapies, including laproscopic surgery and advanced endoscopy. Clinical services are coordinated within six sections or modules: liver disease, pancreatic & biliary disease, gastrointestinal cancer, functional & inflammatory bowel disease, nutrition, and esophagology & motility.
